‘Jump to Amazing Thailand’ initiative launched in Middle East
The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) of Dubai and Middle East office launched “Jump to Amazing Thailand” initiative in March this year. The initiative, a first by an international tourism authority to directly target international schools in Middle East aims to promote awareness of Thailand as a quality and value for money school camp destination.
This initiative consists of educational program’s and experiences focusing various themes such as the environment, culture, history and other specialized fields of study are offered as options and are made specifically to meet the curriculum and scholastic needs of schools.
A seminar was Abu Dhabi and Dubai to provide principals and head teachers with details of Thailand’s infrastructure and expertise in holding international school camps and provide them opportunity to meet tour operators from Thailand attending the seminar.
This initiative has been crafted by the tourism authority of Thailand with a hope that through this initiative Thailand can provide valuable impetus in developing the minds and scholastic learning of UAE based students.
There has been a steady rise in number of tourists from Middle East visiting Thailand. There has been a increase of 11.34% increase in 2007 over 2006 where there has been a increase of 22.7% in first half of 2008 over first half of 2007.
Thailand continues to provide excellent quality experiences for travelers from around the world and was recently judged by the Country Branding Index in 2008 based on key criteria like ‘value for money’, ‘authenticity’, ‘friendly locals’, ‘nightlife’ and ‘shopping’.
